Texas has a $23 billion budget shortfall and the public universities like UH, UT, and A&M are going to get huge budget cuts. University of Houston's state budget will be cut 19%. UH's student body president is asking the entire student body to sign a petition at http://www.gopetition.com/petition/43058.html to protest this proposed cut. The university's Student Government Association is also meeting with SGA from various universities around the state to plan a march on The Capitol in Austin to protest this cut. Tentative date is March 15-16th. This is an important issue that could vary well affect our education. Please take a few minutes to learn more about the issue and see what you can do. If you have any questions/comments/concern feel free to contact Pharmacy Council (insert our email here) or our Student Government Association represetative Phong Dang at (insert his email in here).

Since we have a dress code now, Austin thought it would be a good idea to have days when we do not have to follow it. If we can get this approved, what kind of "dress-up" days would YOU like to have? For example, these can be pajama day, sandals and T-shirts day, shorts day...etc. Just post your comment and we will definitely take it into consideration!
The following organizations may sell educational items during orientation as follows:
APhA-ASP & SSHP: White Coats & Patches PDC: FGA Books KY: Drug Cards KE: Name badge CPFI: Blood Pressure Kits NCPA: Calculations and Compounding Books VAPSS: Red Polo shirts Rho Chi: Law Book Required items that new students have to buy from the organization: White coats & patches, name badge Recommended but not required to buy item: Red polo shirts Every other items on the above list are required to buy, but not required from the respective organizations that are selling them. So what do you guys think about this amendment? And how should profit be regulated as certain organizations will have an advantage over others. Should the profit be split among the participating organizations? Should Pharmacy Council do a drawing at the end of the year to see which organization get to sell what? Or should things stay the way they are regarding the profit? ~Every other Wednesdays~
